Protein, amino- and fatty acids

There is nothing better to support building muscle substances than high-quality protein. In other words, the different amino acids required as protein component are most beneficiary in building muscular tissue when they are in their correct proportion. The protein in the common feed crops like hay or grain is not ideal. A feed concentrate to enhance the muscle development should contain supplementary protein sources and amino acids to upgrade the overall protein. With a particularly processed brewer’s yeast, spirulina algae, a fermentationally created malt-yeast-extract, ground algae and supplemented l-lysine, St. Hippolyt’s Gold Medal contains these muscle producing components in a highly-digestible form. Besides the protein components, fat substances derived from grain germs and oil seeds contribute to the natural development of the involved hormones. The essential fatty acids from cold-pressed linseed oil enhance the muscles’ suppleness, too.

Vital nutrients for the basic metabolism

The equine metabolism requires certain building blocks to properly compile all components for the muscle growth. These tools are specifically suited enzymes that build up and link the muscle fibrils and connect them with stabilizing conjunctive tissue fibres. However, the enzymes’ capability depends largely on functional vital nutrients, such as the B-complex vitamins and trace elements like zinc, manganese, copper and silicon. St. Hippolyt’s Gold Medal is particularly formulated to provide these vital nutrients in a perfectly balanced proportion. Active ingredients like milk thistle, curcuma and brewer’s yeast support the function of the liver as the major metabolic organ.

Muscle development requires muscle protection

Initial training and competitions accelerate the metabolism which leads inevitably to the production of oxygen radicals that attack and partly destroy the muscle tissue. Special endogenous enzymes that depend on the existence of trace elements such as zinc, copper, manganese and selenium neutralize these scavengers and ensure the protection of the tissue. Besides these micronutrients, St. Hippolyt’s Gold Medal provides the horse with additional tissue-protecting substances like algae, herbs, brewer’s yeast, carrots and natural vitamin E.
